Having captions on videos is extremely important. And adding them to your videos using Premiere Pro is no longer the arduous endeavor it once was.
Follow these short steps if you want uniform subtitle styles across the board for a project.
To create a subtitle style:
- Navigate to your Text Panel. If it’s not already part of your workspace, find it in the Window tab of your menu bar.
- Create your subtitles by transcribing the audio in your sequence or writing it from scratch.
- Navigate to your Essential Graphics Panel. If it’s not already part of your workspace, find it in the Window tab of your menu bar.
- Tinker with controls like the font, kerning, layout, and colors until you like how the text and background look.
- Click on where it says “None” under the Track Style section.
- Click on “Create Style.
- Name your style, and it will save into your Project Bin as a file.
- To save this style so that you can apply this style to other Premiere Pro projects, right-click on the new text style in your project folder, and select “Export Text Styles.” You’ll be able to import them into any future Premiere Pro projects.
Thats it! Happy subtitling! 🙂
